First and foremost, welcome to our website and a very big thank you for visiting!
My name is Jeff Mulvihill, Jr. I am the owner and founder of instaimage. instaimage came to life in January of 2003 in Hollister, CA. My feeling was that there was an option in photographic choices that was missing from our lives and I wanted to fill in that void. The missing choice was sports and action shots to the general public. You can always see action shots in the big magazines and in the local newspapers but I was never able to find someone that was dedicated to bringing these memories to me as a former athlete; thus launched my mission. To bring the very highest quality sports and action photos to you, regardless of your activity, if you're moving, I want to be there to capture the moment and deliver it in the highest quality possible. Growing up I was a very avid soccer player. I played other sports, basketball and I was even a kicker for one year in high school for our football team but soccer was my passion. That passion took me onto college which had been a childhood dream; three years on the San Jose State Men's Soccer Team was the result. Of course school was the priority and I found that I could not continue with the rigors of both playing at that level and maintaining my studies so I had to focus on the studies but remained dedicated to the game and began coaching soccer in a local youth league. Eventually that had to end as well as graduation and the "real world" were upon me. Through all my years of involvement there was always one thing that always frustrated me, the lack of photos of myself playing. Some of my very best memories are of times spent on the soccer field, some of the best friendships I've made were made on the soccer field but I have little or no photographic memories to go along with them. I remember how exciting it was when the newspaper photographer was at our games in high school, the chance to be in the newspaper and finally have a photo of me playing. It helped that my best buddy's brother (and our former coach) worked at the newspaper so I was able to get copies of the images but that's not available to everyone and thus my passion behind instaimage. As I mentioned I started instaimage in 2003 in Hollister, CA. At the end of 2003 my wife and I were presented with an exciting and unique opportunity which would require relocation. We decided the best option for us would be to take the opportunity to make a "life improving" move so we quit our corporate jobs, picked up and moved to Minden, NV and purchased Doc Wenzel's Old Time Portraits in South Lake Tahoe, CA (www.docwenzels.com). Sports action and old time portraits seem worlds apart but the two businesses are quite similar in function and our mission with both is the same; to provide the very best products available in each of these photographic segments. 2007 brought significant change to Doc Wenzel's Old Time Portraits in South Lake Tahoe. The South Lake Tahoe Re-Development Agency began the Convention Center project which meant we were out on the street. We made an attempt to relocate Doc Wenzel's in South Lake Tahoe but were met with considerable opposition and were forced to move it to a new destination. Cannery Row in Monterey, CA is the new home of Doc Wenzel's Old Time Portraits. We began operations October 17, 2007 in Monterey. 2007 also meant big changes for our Sports and Event business as well. After having sat idle for most of the years I was attending to the Old Time business in South Tahoe, we had the tremendous opportunity to make some great contacts in Northern Nevada by providing our service to several leagues in our area. We look forward to continuing to build our relationships with the league officials throughout Northern Nevada in 2008 and beyond. Please take some time to look around at our site and be sure to take a look at our sample gallery. These "samples" have been taken over the past years and are just a small piece of the work that we have created for customers. We hope you'll agree that our work is worthy of going on your desk at work, on your walls at home, into your bookshelves and scrapbooks for life's time worth of memories of your favorite and best moments in time. Thank you again for your interest in our work, we hope to see you soon! |
